โ€œToo late for you to learn the error of your ways...โ€ ~ Finch Granger

I've forgotten how surprisingly good combat was in Hogwarts Legacy!

And I realize I never did another game log post for this game. Yes, my character's name is Finch Granger. Yes, I have a backstory about him being Hermione's long lost ancestor LOL. That's how I justified using that name anyway haha.

I was going through my journal and realized I have stopped posting about my Pro Evolution Soccer 2021 game logs. This was due to a tagging mistake on my end. I started using a new tag to track game logs and consequently lost visibility of my older game logs.

Must be noted, these game logs were written back in 2021. The game itself is old and can no longer be purchased today. Still, I think it is still a great game and this is a fun way to track my progress in the game. Plus, sharing it might help somebody new to the game. So, anyway, let's pick up where I left off shall we...

While trying to improve my game, I decided to try swapping the positions for Pogba and Van De Beek on the field. Instead of letting Pogba play CMF, I played him as my AMF and had Van De Beek at CMF. On offense, I think this was a better setup because Pogba is a much bigger threat at AMF. Van De Beek on the other hand, is much better at covering the defense because of his speed and aggression. So playing him as my CMF also worked out well.

I'm on my 2nd Master League season and I'm struggling in PES 2021. I keep conceding goals. Even with Manolas in the game, I still concede. I even signed up Elvedi to increase the availability of quality CBs in every game. I'm still conceding. And it always seems to happen in the first half too. They just break down my defense in the central areas. Not sure how to stop it. Even when I went with 2 deep CMFs, I still conceded.

I have been addicted to SnowRunner recently and I wished I looked up a beginner's guide before playing. Would have saved myself lots of time trying to figure out how things worked. This one at only 6 minutes long, covers a lot of important gameplay features that new players should know about.

Hanabi Ichijo and Yuito Sumeragi Hanabi Ichijo and Yuito Sumeragi. Hanabi is one of the first characters you are paired with in battle. She's pretty cool. Triggering her ability will imbue your attacks with fire.

Level 18 now in Starfield. I had to reload a save to avoid getting the Rank 2 Weapon Engineering skill. I initially got it because I wanted to be able to craft suppressor mods for my weapons. However, after unlocking it, I found that I still needed to do more Research Projects before I can actually craft a suppressor. On top of that, I was missing materials for the Research Projects. So I unlocked the skill, but couldnโ€™t make use of it right away. In hindsight, I donโ€™t think it was worth it getting it at this point in the game.

So yeah, I reloaded an older save file, and this time I decided to max out my Ballistics weapon skill. The difference here is that this skill upgrade takes effect immediately.

I then decided to roam around outside the Lodge and didnโ€™t realize how much I was missing. I found a store called Centaurion Arsenal that sells really nice modified weapons. I found an Assassinโ€™s Beowulf, which means a Beowulf rifle that already has a suppressor and a medium scope on it. This was what I wanted to be able craft via the weapon engineering skill. But in this case, I could simply buy the weapon and use it right away. I don't even have to worry about finding materials for my research projects and all that tedious stuff.

Yuito Sumeragi running on crosswalk -- the photo mode in this game is pretty robust. The photo mode in this game is pretty robust.

Yuito Sumeragi -- love his armor design. Yuito Sumeragi -- nice armor and weapon design. And like I said in my initial post about this game, I'm loving the armor designs.

This is going to be a short one. Just some helpful tips for when you're in the final stages of the game, in the city of Insomnia.

The photo below shows the location of the entrance to the hideout in the city of Insomnia. At one time, I was roaming both ends of the map trying to get back to the hideout. This should save you some time. This shows the location of the entrance to the hideout in the city of Insomnia.

Recently finished the game Hi-Fi Rush. Thought I'd share some screenshots of the game. It's a beautiful game. Anime-ish inspired art work, great sounding music and pretty good game play.

I installed Shadow of Mordor yesterday and then played it while my kids watched me. I quickly remembered why I always uninstall it. The game is great. The combat is loads of fun. In fact, I think this game and its successor, has one of the best melee combat implementations in video games. Think older Assassin Creed games with the easy one button counter, but set in Middle Earth. The problem is... it's too violent to play around my kids.

At one point, I was perched on the roof of a building and jumped down to kill a Goblin guard. My character stabbed him in the back and then slit his throat. I kinda flinched at that animation when I realized my kids were watching it as it happened. There's also a variety of execution animations when fighting enemies. There's one where, with the enemy prone on the ground, my character grabbed his leg to twist him around, then stabbed him multiple times in the chest. There's one where the enemy gets stabbed on his side, then on his neck. There's lots of these brutal killing animations in the game.

To be fair, this is all fun to me, an adult. I feel like older teenagers will feel the same way. I feel like such a badass taking down Goblins and Orcs this way. But again, this is not exactly kid friendly content. And since my kids usually watch me play, I end up stopping to pick another game to play. Eventually, the game gets uninstalled to make way for other games that I could play around my kids.

I wonder how other parents who play videogames, handle this kind of scenario. Do you simply play that specific game when the kids are asleep? Or do you just accept the fact that your kids will be exposed to violence and gore eventually, and try to explain it ahead of time?
